Jubix Studios Inc. (“Jubix Studios”, “we”, “us”) publishes children’s books and sells them at jubixstudios.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We are a Canadian company based in Alberta. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you live in the United States, additional rights may apply to you, and these are described in the section “Rights for United States residents” below.

2. What we collect
When you place an order
- Your name, email address and phone number, if you provide one
- Your billing address and your shipping address
- The items you ordered and the amount you paid
- Payment card details, which go directly to our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
When you create an account
- Your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in a hashed form that we cannot read.
- Your saved addresses and your order history
When you use the site
- Your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, recorded in standard server logs
- Cookies needed to keep your shopping cart and your login working. These are described in section 7.
When you contact us or leave a review
- Your email address and whatever you choose to tell us in your message
- If you submit a review, the name you enter, your email address and the text of your review. Reviews are checked by a person before they appear on the site.
We do not buy personal information about you from other companies, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. Why we collect it
- To take payment for your order and to prevent fraudulent transactions
- To have your book printed and delivered to you
- To send you order confirmations, shipping notifications and refund notices
- To answer your questions and handle problems with an order
- To keep the accounting and tax records that Canadian law requires us to keep
- To keep the site secure and working properly
We will only send you marketing email if you have asked us to. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Order emails are not marketing, and we need to send them so that you know what is happening with your order.
4. Who we share it with
We share your personal information only with the companies that help us run the store, and only with what they need to do their job.
- Stripe handles payment. Your card details go to Stripe directly. Stripe is based in the United States and operates worldwide. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Bookvault, a company registered in the United Kingdom, prints and dispatches your book through its printing partner in the United States. We pass on your name, shipping address and the details of your order so your book can be delivered.
- Delivery carriers (for example UPS or the United States Postal Service) receive your name and shipping address so they can deliver your parcel.
- Brevo sends our emails. Brevo is based in France and processes your email address and the content of the message.
- Hostinger hosts our website and its database in the United States.
We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. Information stored outside Canada
Our service providers store and process personal information in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union. Information held in another country may be accessed by the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country. We choose providers that offer a comparable level of protection to what is required in Canada, and our contracts with them require them to protect your information.
6. How long we keep it
- Completed orders and their invoices: at least seven years. Canadian tax law requires us to keep business records for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to.
- Orders that were never paid for: deleted after three months.
- Customer accounts with no activity: deleted after three years.
- Emails you send us: kept for as long as needed to handle your question, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you write again about the same matter.
- Marketing email lists: until you unsubscribe.
7. Cookies
We use only the cookies the store needs in order to work:
- A cookie that remembers what is in your shopping cart
- A cookie that keeps you logged in if you have an account
- A cookie that records your choice if you dismiss a notice on the site
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow other companies to track you across other websites from our site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the shopping cart and the checkout will not work without them.
8. Children
Our books are written for children, but this website is intended for adults who are buying them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to support@jubixstudios.com and we will delete it.
9. Security
The whole site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers. Access to our systems is limited to people who need it, and those accounts are protected by two-factor authentication. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take these safeguards seriously.
10. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, where we are not required by law to keep it
- Stop sending you marketing email
Write to support@jubixstudios.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. If you have an account, you can also view and update much of this information yourself under My Account.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Rights for United States residents
Some states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others, give residents rights to know what personal information a business holds, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of its sale or of targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you. To exercise any of these rights, write to support@jubixstudios.com. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will say so on the site.
